I am a Psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience in London and New York in both the public and private sectors, including the NHS and private and voluntary organisations. I have considerable experience in working with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures and life experiences.
My areas of practice include Trauma, Abuse, Bereavement and Loss including the loss of a child and pregnancy loss, Depression, Anxiety, working with those adjusting to life as an Expat, transitions in family life or in relationships, and cross-cultural issues.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist I utilise psychodynamic, systemic and humanistic theories in order to help clients make sense of and work through their current struggles and address their past difficulties. My approach is tailored to my client’s needs and with knowledge and experience of evidence-based treatments.
Sessions last 50 minutes and typically take place once a week at a regular time and day. Fortnightly sessions can also be agreed if that is felt to be more appropriate for your individual needs. Confidentiality is paramount and you can talk safely without fear of being judged.
I offer open ended therapy as well as short term therapy. Open ended work can address a specific issue or a number of difficulties and leaves the ending open. Short term therapy focuses on one specific problem with an agreed end date at the beginning, this is often 6-12 sessions.
Whether open ended therapy or short-term work is more suitable for you can be discussed at the initial consultation and can also be reviewed with you during therapy.
